Hello everyone! I’m starting flight school soon in the Boise area. I’m really excited to get started!
Hi, I’m almost feeling excited on your behalf! It must be great to be just starting out on a chosen career. If I had my life over again, this is what I’d want to do. It wasn’t as easy in my day, when very few women were making this type of career choice.
Congrats! The fact that you are a part of this community tells me you already have the right mindset about flying. Good luck - you’ll do great!
Great. An excellent world of learning is coming for you. Tip: make sure you and he/she works well as a team. You have the right to look for someone else if not satisfied.
Thank you for your encouragement!
What is the mandatory retirement age for pilots in the UK? You might still have time!
I’m fortunate to have a school that has a good selection of instructors. I got to work with one of them during an open house. We did some stuff on a simulator and he liked that I was very coachable and asked if he could be my primary instructor haha. He also encourages me to try other instructors as well. It’s going to be great!
Thanks Hoover! I’m grateful for your channel and this group. I love into all your videos after I made the decision to pursue flying. I used to be in law enforcement and we’d watch badge cam videos to learn from those and your channel is the aviation equivalent. Thank you for taking the time to help the safety of aviation.
I’m not sure what age pilots retire from commercial aviation in the UK, but as I’m in my sixties I don’t think I’m going to be training as a commercial pilot!
I was interested to read that you were in law enforcement. My son and one son in law are in the police, my son locally and my son in law in Northern Ireland. My son is currently doing his Inspector’s exams, he’s currently a sergeant with the armed police.
I’m looking forward to your input here, there are people from every background and age group. And of course do keep us posted with how you’re getting on when you start flight school.
